WHAT WOULD YOU DO......

Today at church the minister gave me a lot to think about. He asked the question, what would we do if we were to go down on one knew and told someone that we loved them, that we wanted to give ourselves to them, and that you wanted to spend the rest of your life loving them. And then we asked him/her to marry us. But, their response was not what we had expected. What if their reply was, "oh how wonderful. I want to be loved like that. I want your dedication to me. I love the idea of being married. Yes, I will marry you but, I don't want to be tied down to just our relationship and so I will need to have other lovers too." The minister asked us how that would make us feel. He asked if we would still be dedicated to our love or would we walk away. I don't know about you but upon close inspection of my own life I know that I have done this to Christ. John 14:15 tells us, "If you love me, you will keep my commandments." John 14:21 say, "Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me." John 14:23 reads, Jesus answered him, "If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him." We tell ourselves that we love him - but do we? Do we even know him? John 2:3 Says, "And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments." In light of these teachings I have to ask myself. Will I be among those who will faces our Lord on Judgement day to be told, Depart from me I never knew you? No one can serve two masters. He doesn't want a luck warm church. He wants everything and all from us. He wants to give everything and all in return.
